These diy hand painted wood floral ornaments are easy to paint and perfect for the beginner. They would make great gifts or could be used as a present topper.
This is part two of my hand painted flower ornaments that I painted last year. (you can see my faux ceramic hand painted ball ornaments here) I was so in love with the flower ornaments I kept seeing but I am a DIY, therefore I had to paint my own. I've been hoping to do this for years because I keep by these wood ornaments from JOANN each Christmas but haven't done a thing about it. Well, last year I finally painted a few.
And I LOVE how they turned out. I still have a few wood turnings left to paint some more this year. I even let my kids pait some too. I actually love how theirs turned out, but theirs got packed up before I could take pictures. What I really love is how simple the wood looks underneath the flowers. But the flowers compliment that simplicity and makes it beautiful. And honestly, these flowers were very easy to paint for my amateur skills. I did make a video of me painting a few of them, but unfortunately, not all. But hopefully this will inspire you to paint your own. DIY Hand Painted Wood Floral Ornaments
Supplies:
Wood Turning Ornaments - I've only found them at JOANN and they have them again this year! but they sell out fast, so go now!
Here is a video of my painting them: I hope you enjoy!
Step 1:
I suggest practicing your painted design on paper first. That way you'll know how to do it. But if you do make a mistake, just get some water and wash it off fast before it dries.
Step 2:
Paint your design. Simplest instructions ever right :). You can seal it with something, or just tie with a string and hang it on a tree.
