2 Nephi 31:20
My sister asked if I could create a printable for this scripture from the Book of Mormon. It is a favorite in my family, particularly my mothers. She was always quoting it to us and had us all memorize it at one point.
If you would like your own free copy of the Book of Mormon, go here!
I think in life we overcomplicate what we should be doing to be happy. There are so many things diverting our attention in many different directions. There are a plethora of self-help books that tell us how to be happy and to live content in life. For me, my favorite scripture is Alma 37:6-7 that says "by small and simple things are great things brought to pass..."
We don't need to be highly educated or having a great amount of resources to be happy. We need to have faith in Christ and have hope. We need to love and serve those around us. We need to hunger and feast on the scriptures which are Christ's words. We need to keep going forward and have faith that God will be with us. In that one verse, we are taught the keys we need to know to be happy and how we can return to Heavenly Father.
These principles are then repeated over and over again throughout all scripture because they are eternal truths. These words can guide us through rough and happy times that we might encounter on this journey in life.
And it ends with the promise of eternal life. This scripture is a covenant between us and our Heavenly Father. If we can press forward, read Christ words and endure to the end, we shall have eternal life. What a wonderful promise in a world where there is so much sorrow and death. These are words of hope.
I hope you can love them as much as me and I want to share them with you. You may notice that the design matches the Book of Mormon bookmarks I made. I just really like these designs and colors.
