DIY Air Dry Clay Painted Earrings

These air dry clay color blocked painted earrings are easy to make and a fun, quick craft for summer days.

I was going through my drafts and came across these air dry clay earrings from a couple years ago but I never got around to actually post about them. So, better late than never. Air dry clay is the gate way to doing clay anything. My kids love using air dry clay, but since we have also moved on to baked clay crafts as well. They love it all. But, air dry clay is nice because you just leave it be and come back to it when you're ready.
Like you may enjoy these clay knot earrings I shared last year:

Or you can try to make these air dry clay face planters. My kids thought these were so fun. But, I would only recommend adding fake plants since these are not water tight.
Anyway, these earrings have so many fun things you can do with them. You can make all sorts of shapes or paint them in variety of ways and colors. This would be such a fun gift or craft to make for a girl who just got her ears pierced. I hope you enjoy this project!

DIY Air Dry Clay Painted Earring

Supplies:

Step 1: Make Balls

Make tiny balls, about the size of your pinky.

Step 2: Flatten balls

Now take the balls and gently squeeze into little disc, about 1/4 inch thick. Let dry for 2-4 hours or longer if needed.

Step 3: Paint and glue

Next paint your little discs just on half of them. Let the paint dry. I also suggest painting a sealant onto the earrings so the paint doesn't chip off. Then using E-6000, glue the discs to the studs and let dry.
