Today, school has officially started. The Pacific Northwest is typically one of the last to start school probably because summer doesn't really start until July. But seriously, I still can't believe that summer is over; it's never long enough for me.
In honor of school starting, I'm finally sharing my DIY Harry Potter Pencil Wands that we made last year when school started. Ha, yes it sometimes takes me that long to share a project :). I made them similar to how I made the Harry Potter Wands out of chopsticks. They go perfect with the Harry Potter History of Magic and Astronomy Textbooks Decor that I have made.
After I made my kids some Harry Potter shirts a month ago, they've been finding all the pencil wands to use while drawing and wearing their shirts.
DIY Harry Potter Pencil Wands Tutorial
Supplies:
- Pencils
- Hot Glue Gun
- Hot Glue
- Acrylic Paint - I used dark earth tones and golds and silver
Step 1: Hot Glue Pencil Wands
First start by spreading the glue onto the top of the pencil. You want it nice and thick but make sure you constantly are turning the pencil so that it doesn't clump up in one spot. Also avoid getting glue on the eraser. Add a little twist of glue down the middle of the pencil.
Step 2: Paint Wands
After the glue has dried, start by painting with a solid color. Then if desired, add a little gold or silver on top.
