Sommer Fabric Easter Dress - Caroline Party Dress Pattern

Lovely Sommer Fabric Easter dress perfect for a sweet little baby
When Sarah (from Sarah Jane Studio) came out with her sommer fabric collection I was in love with each design. The patterns were playful and colorful, yet classic. When she put out the Easter dress challenge, I decided it was just what I needed to sew something again, this time for my little girl.

I've never done much for Easter outfits for my boys except making quick bow ties, so this was kind of an exciting yet daunting task. It took me a good whole month to make it just because well, my time is split between 3 little people and a hubby and millions of other things that need to get done...I digress. BUT I wouldn't it trade any of it for the world.

Anyway, the dress....

For the dress I used the Caroline Party Dress Pattern from Mouse House Creations. But I decided that this dress need gathered sleeves and so I added those on. For the tulle, I didn't actually use tulle. I'm not sure what the fabric is called, but it's in the special occasions fabric section next to the sheer fabric. It's a type of light netting that doesn't fray, doesn't itch and it lays nicely without getting wrinkled like tulle does. I love this stuff.

The clothing tag is probably my favorite part. I made these special mama made tags and printed them off over at spoonflower (you can get some too, all you need to order is a swatch size )
