Weddings can be so expensive and now days you can do so many things yourself and still have it be a huge success!
Sierra here, I don't post often but I'm the blonde one (literally, not figuratively). As a previous event planner I knew exactly what I wanted for my wedding and lucky for me my family is full of DIY people (especially Havalah) and so we were able to pull of what I like to call the Celebration of the Year without spending too much.
Blake and I love pie so we contacted a local bakery and ordered homemade assorted pies instead of cake. Best idea we had, except that we didn't really get to enjoy them. But such a refreshing change away from the traditional cake.
Since we were going for the vintage vibe with pies and wild flowers I put together an old fashioned candy table. All which I ordered from Amazon which made it incredibly affordable!
You're probably starting to notice as well the assorted furniture. I really didn't want the standard table cloth covered 8 ft tables so I reached out to friends, thrift stores etc. and we had assorted vintage furniture as our tables!
We were married in the Portland Oregon Temple and so the wonderful Havalah painted this for us as a wedding present, and we just had to display it!
This was probably my favorite decoration! Lemon slices in the jars with yellow and white flowers. This was the one things I had to have, besides the pies of course. We got the assorted flowers from a local farmers market which helped give it more of that wildflower vibe and not all the bouquets were exactly the same!
All in all it ended up exactly how I wanted and it was incredibly affordable as you can imagine. It is a day I wish I could go back and repeat over and over and thanks to my wonderful family everything ended up perfectly.
