Did you know March is National Craft Month? Don't worry, I had no idea either until I read it on someone's blog. Well I thought in honor of the month it'd be a good time to finally share my finished craft space. Last year when we participated in the one room challenge, for our Master Bedroom (see the finished room HERE) I never actually finished my craft area space. Yes, it has taken me a WHOLE year to get it all put together. And even still I'm always moving stuff around.
To not bore you with words, I'm going to overload you with pictures instead :). See the bottom of post for sources.
Let's first talk about these lights. Our Master Bedroom lacks any overhead lights and I really can't stand lamps, they can take up unnecessary space and fall over...on top of you (true story). My husband came up with a non permanent option. We picked out two Ranarp pendant lamps from Ikea and my husband made some triangle shelves (like the ones Ikea has) to hold them over my table. I can't wait to show you how he did it. The cords are hiding magically behind the triangles and peg board and then they plug into a plug that is turned on by our light switch. I love that they aren't permanent so it was an easy job and we can take them with us if we ever move. But seriously, I love how they look and turned out. They add a country/classy feel to the room and area.
This chicken wire board I made at a Church Woman's Activity. Basically chicken wire stapled to a thrifted frame and fabric hot glued to the back (fabric from Ikea). You can currently buy a version of the cactus and strawberry watercolor HERE.
This peg thread board is my second favorite part of the area. It's left over peg board that we actually add to later when I realized I needed more thread storage than my embroidery thread hoop could hold. I got THESE white pegs from amazon and they are great because they stay in place and don't move when I take the spools on and off.
My next favorite thing would be the Ikea Magnetic Knife Block!! Seriously, it's perfect for needles and bobbins and is a really strong magnet.
